The vice of Helmut Lang

Did you know that the brand Helmut Lang was once own by Prada? It did but just for a couple of years. Then Link Theory Holdings relaunched the brand  in 2007 and with the talent of the new creative directors Michael and Nicole Colovos, Helmut Lang has become a big success in the fashion world.
By keeping  the minimalist and edgy vision of its original creator (1986-2005) it has found a special love among us fashionistas. In my opinion, it has master the art of making leather pieces unforgettable  and every jacket I've seen has become a must have obsession.
I enclose my picks of the Pre-Fall 2012 Collection.

Pointy Pumps are back!

If these beauties are back that means sharp feet pain is back, but who cares!  we are used to it and they makes us look so chic and timeless.
I have to say that the king designer of pointy pumps is Mr. Jimmy Choo, his Choo 24/7 Collection will stand the test of time.
In 2006, when they were very trendy I used to wear them a lot with jeans, this time I have been wearing them with formal capri trousers and they simply look amazing without showing a lot of leg.
My best advice is: take your flats with you, just in case ;)

Paris-Bombay Pre-fall 2012 Chanel Collection

Oh my Karl! you did it again... As I look through the pre-fall 2012 collection (in my sofa with my Ipad :( ) I day dream about walking through the magnificent runway that the Grand Palais in Paris provided for the Chanel's show, every guest enjoyed a great view of the collection while seating behind a very long banquet table with flowers, fruits and pastries decorating the atmosphere of the already majestic venue. An extravagant Indian inspired collection shined through every detail of the artisanal embroidery in all of the 78 outfits of the collection. You simply have to see it  Chanel Video

New Tom Ford nail polish!!

I am so excited to try the new collection of nail polish by Tom Ford! It has 16 shades and there is one called "Bitter Bitch", love it or hate?... I believe the price tag will be higher than a Chanel nail polish. Decide for yourself but I think I love all the colours :

Speaking of movies...

Is there a movie that you simply can get tired of watching? Well, I am an expert on that and sometimes it worries me I don't get tired of re-watching the same movies over and over again. For example, my favorite movie since I can remember is Superman (1979 with Christopher Reeve) isn't that weird??? Now that I am a grown woman I still enjoy watching it like when I was a little girl...news flash to me: There are no Supermen out there ready to save me!!! LOL so pathetic but makes me happy.
Other movies that I love memorising  are The Devil Wears Prada (shocker for a fashion blogger, right!), Amelie (french movie), Ghost and very stupid chick flicks like The Sweetest Thing and How to lose a guy in 10 days among others, please do not judge me by this movies, I have great taste in this too but it is just  my thing!.. I guess no matter your movie selection we love watching them 1000 times and more!

The Vice of Movies

This vice plays with your emotions, it makes you cry, makes you laugh and scares the bleep out of you. There is something about making a movie night out that keeps you coming back for more even if you have to pay 9 euros (Italy), $11.95 (Canadian Dollars), $9 (US Dollar) and thank GOD $50 (Mexican Pesos = about $3.80 USD) plus all the good stuff for the tummy!!!
I need to confess my little tacky secret...I am a food and beverage smuggler! Half of me says," who cares!!! no one will notice the opening of my canned soda with the noise of the movie" but the other half is mortified when my boyfriend makes so much noise with the bag of Doritos. Yes it is very very tacky but I love planning what will we smuggle the day before and go wild on our junk food cravings of the week. I sincerely apologize to all the movie theaters I've been, I do sometimes purchase food there but it is way more fun my way!
No matter who you go with this is a vice that will indulge your eyes, your brain, your perspective and your sweet tooth! VIVA LAS MOVIES!

Oh Duomo Duomo!

Everytime I am walking by the Duomo in Milan, I can't help staring at it like if it was my first time infront of such a majestic Cathedral. By far my fav place in the world. I have taken so many pictures and I would like to share some with you, it is definitely worth climbing all those narrowed stairs so you can enjoy the amazing views of Milan. Other way to enjoy beautiful views of the Duomo and Corso Vittorio Emmanuele  is from the rooftop restaurants of La Rinascente, one of Italy's famous department stores. I love having lunch at Obika (mozzarella bar) or Maio Restaurant, let's not forget about Il Bar!

Short hair...NOT!

I have been wanting to have a drastic make over since last summer. You get inspired by different looks you see around in the city, by reading a magazine and see that Michele Williams finally got it right looking gorgeous with a very short hair so you are definitely ready to take that big step and cut your long shiny hair and convert it into something glamorous and daring. Then, some how I started making up excuses like my undefined permanent location and busy travelling  would get on the way on finding the perfect hair stylist who I could trust completely to do the job so I waited more and more. Yesterday finally I was at the right place at the right moment with the right person to do it, so I went. And of course I chickened out again...my hair is longer than ever and I am loving it so maybe next year!!!

Last week bday party, this week a funeral!

One day you are all excited about your birthday celebration and you forget about the rest of the world. You start by planning the location, then the catering and of course your guests...and above all.. the perfect outfit, right?
A few days later, you receive "the call"!  the mom of a really good friend from college lost the battle of cancer, she was a young mom always so happy and patient with us when we used to have crazy parties at her house. Definitely dressing up for a funeral is a whole different story, you really don't want to think about it because it is not important but you also don't want to seem insensitive or disrespectful by wearing bright colours and a short dress. Choosing a sober outfit without overdoing the black sad look will do the job.
Luv you my dear friend Yvette! your mom is finally in heaven ... no more pain...

Romea Romea!

Sounds strange doesn't it? I first heard about this particular name when I recently moved to our new apartment in Milan. The apartment it was absolutely perfect for my boyfriend and I, small but with a lot of character, walking distance to Il Duomo, right next to a big Simply (supermarket) and the best part there were no kids in the building. The first day we spent there we got a surprising taste of what our neighbours would be like, a crazy old couple screaming at each other from the top of their lungs were driving us mad, I guess having kids next door wouldn't have been so bad after all. Romea Romea! the old man would scream loudly asking her where she was going every hour (Dove vai, dove vai?!). You must know that the one bedroom apartments in our building are quite small, so I don't think Romea was wandering around  the big garden with a pool! After three month, we found out after my boyfriend complaining of their crazy loud arguments that Romea was not mentally stable and she would do strange things without knowing why so her babysitter husband was losing it too. From than moment we laugh and enjoy the daily dose of Romea.

Great Shopping in San Antonio

Who would have thought San Antonio TX  had a lot of shopping to offer. I was there for a week and everyday I was busy shopping and window shopping around the city. The biggest mall is La Cantera which has all the shops you can imagine from Forever 21 to Neiman Marcus and Burberry. The other one is the North Star Mall  where you can find a Saks Fifth Avenue. And if you still have left some dollars in your pocket you also have San Marcos Outlet, which is one of the biggest outlets I've seen.

Don't mess with Texas!

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3171836/the-lovely-vice?claim=txyw8au732j">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

I had the chance to go back to San Antonio last week and celebrate my birthday with some of my dearest friends and family.
I stayed  at the Mokara Hotel & Spa, formerly The Watermark Hotel, which is the only four star hotel in San Antonio. The service was superb! not even one person was moody nor rude. I had a lot of free time to enjoy the spa and I can't wait to go back in the summer and take advantage of the rooftop pool with an amazing view of downtown SA. It has a priviledged location, facing the riverwalk you can easily walk around the city and visit the famous landmarks like the Alamo, La Villita and of course take a ride on the riverwalk boat. Right across the river there is another hotel that I loved, La Mansion del Rio where I had an amazing brunch on Sunday right before I left. What a nice way to say goodbye to a great city with lots of history and traditions.

Are leggins the new Jeans?

At least for me they are. Not only leggins are way more comfortable than jeans, but they are also very flattering on every shape. I must admit I am very infatuated by them, I've been wearing them for years and for every occasion, you can't go wrong with them. My favourite combination by far is when I wear them with a blazer, just put on a t-shirt and a pair of fabulous pumps (remember not to match everything all the time!) and you are done looking slimmer  and very fashionable without sacrificing comfort or style.

How about a pedicure!!

I am all excited to come to my Yoga class, I  can't wait to jump from the treadmill to the classroom. I look around and I see only one brave man ready to start and mostly 20 or 30 something women. This time is not crowded so I choose where to stand. My yoga instructor is a hot brazilian but he is gay! anyways, right infront of me there is one lady, let's say "with a bit of junk in the trunck" . The class starts, we strech and what is my surprise...the lady has the most horrible feet that I've ever seen!!! whyyyy???
Ladys and gentlemen who attend yoga, pilates and all these bare feet classes in the world, PLEASE take care of your feet, I encourage you to try having a nice pedicure at your local mall and enjoy the benefits that this practice can give you, if there is not enough budget...DO IT YOURSELF! IT'S FREEEEE! xoxo

Hot or Cold?

Definitely COLD! I had a very long summer and I must say I did not enjoy it. First I was in Mexico where you have two seasons all at once. Spring and Summer have the same temperatures, so if you are planning to have an early summer vacation with a great weather Mexico is the place to be! The weather is always between 27 and 32 degrees C and the best part is that is cheaper!!! Low season can be a friend for your pocket and it won't be crowded, this is something I really appreciate specially if you go out to the beach and want to relax. Who likes to take sun arm to arm with a complete stranger who might resemble you the most wanted child molester in the country or have right in front of you the girl with the greatest body with no cellulite, no stretchmarks that automatically you start hating because your boyfriend won't stop staring?
Then I went to Canada and experience hell on earth... hard to believe, right? Specially when hell is not prepared with an AC!!! We had 47 degrees.....just by thinking about it I start melting. Next time I will make sure I have the best cooling system in the world!
For the last part of my summer I was in Italy. Thirty something degrees with no AC, humidity 100% or so it felt until the beginning of October!!!!! Again, I had the misfortune to experience another record! Just my luck...

To Blog or Not to Blog...

Well, I guess the answer is to blog! I have always thought that talking about what's in your head helps you have a peace of mind, but not always, sometimes you don't feel too comfortable talking about the stupidiest thing that crosses your mind so why not write about absolutely everything that goes on in your mind. In my case, I'd rather write about my multiple travels and the things I see, the restaurants I love and why not, my secret passion... La Moda, La Mode, Fashion!
By browsing the web, or in other words, killing time infront of a computer, I have noticed that "blogging" and "bloggers" is getting more and more popular, and people are not as scared or as misinformed as before. A few years back I remember I started one, but for some reason, mainly not having time for it, I stopped doing it. But now I think is the most therepeutic thing you can do and won't cost you a dime! although shopping is still and it will always be the best therapy for most of us women. So what you think is better, talking with a friend, going to your therapist , write it out or shop it out?
